Hello all! I'm Nik, KD9SXC, and I just got my tech license in mid-June 2021.

An acquaintance online hooked me up with a Baofeng UV-5R HT and I was able to get on the air quickly. So far I've been using it to talk with others on my commute to and from work, as well as checking in to the Welcome Net on Wednesday nights at 8 PM ET.

I live on the west side of Bloomington and travel to the east side to work, so that makes for at least 30 minutes per day on average tuned into the 443.775 repeater here.

Aside from radio, I enjoy spending time with my wife and dogs, gardening, taking pictures, messing around with computers and other electronics, cooking, and making/listening to music.

Future ham radio interests include APRS and keyboard-to-keyboard digital modes.

Special thanks to Russ (N9DHX) who has been my friendly, welcoming, and helpful Elmer as I get started with all amateur radio has to offer.
