Hi All.

I just realized I never did an introduction, probably because I've been on and off both the airwaves and this website. Got my tech ticket in April, 2021 and general 2 months later. Started with a Baofeng (seems to be a popular option :)), added an FTDX3000, and have continued adding since then (almost as expensive as riding recumbent bikes). My purpose in the hobby is looking ahead to retirement (maybe in about 2 years or so). Having worked in emergency services for a couple decades, and human services after that, community service sounded good.

I've been doing phone and digital POTA hunting, using FT8/FT4, and PSK. Have tried RTTY but I must be doing something wrong since I get nothing; same problem with WinLink. I've added DMR successfully and trying to get FT1DR for YSF and ID-51 for D-Star to work for me. Hopefully my meeting later today with a local Elmer will solve that problem.

Over time, I have managed to meet several of the people on The Welcome Net in person, and it shows that their friendly, helpful on-air personality is exactly what they are everywhere. I consider myself lucky, and look forward to meeting more readers as I learn more about the hobby.
