I was first licensed in 1982 but wanted to earn my ticket much earlier in life. Since licensed I have seen far too many eager new licensees but their radio in the drawer never to be heard from again within three months. The Welcome Net Project is my contribution to our hobby attempting to alleviate this problem. The challenge is to provide the practical information needed by folks new to our wonderful world of amateur radio not covered in the license study material.
